Music Mix Sets

Who hasn't wanted to be a DJ at some point in their life? It's a phase that everyone goes through in their teens or twenties, right?!

What started in the early-1990s with a dual-cassette deck stereo and a taste for Eurodance, later led to mucking around with an early trial version of MixMeister and stash of iffy MP3 files courtesy of LimeWire.

As both my taste in music matured, I bought a proper copy of MixMeister Express 7 and began to curate a collection of high-bitrate MP3s from reputable sources. Euro tracks of my younger years made way for House, Progressive Trance, Liquid DnB, Nu-Disco, and Indy Dance. The stage was set for my "bedroom DJ" phase where I crafted beatmatched compilations and published the finished products on MixCloud.

Alas, life got in the way and so my MixMeister hobby took a backseat to more grown-up affairs, but I kept listening thanks to Digitally Imported (streaming); taking note of tracks which caught my attention along the way.

And so, we've arrived at the summer of 2023 when, out of the blue, my DJ itch has returned. Armed with a new toy—Mashup 2 (c/o Mixed In Key)—let's see what the coming months bring...
